The Digimode-Patchbox/3
USB Data Interface with built in Soundcard:
This is a project that i am running at the Pontefract and district Amateur Radio society, it is only open for PDARS members to build at the club because i only have ten kits prepared and we don't have a lot of room at the club. Start date should be the last week in March 2010.
If you are interested in Data communications i.e, RTTY, PSK31, SSTV, etc and don't want to spend £100 plus on a commercial interface then this project is for you.
The interface only has two connections; one to the rig and one to the computer. Data i/o and DC supply come from the USB port and the other connection is to the transceivers data port or to the mic, ptt and audio out sockets, this makes for a very tidy setup, not the usual rats nest of cables.
I will update this page with photo's and diagrams; also PCB foil patterns and component overlays and lists. Anyone wishing to build this project will be able to download the files and photo's.
I should have a photograph of the prototype for you to view very shortly, so keep popping back for a look, or better still put me in your favourites.
Thanks for looking, Colin G0NQE.
