The construction night took place at the PDARS headquarters in Carleton Community Centre, Pontefract, on Tuesday 04/08/09.
We had twelve constructors turned up on Tuesday evening, once all the soldering irons got hot the door had to be opened to let the heat out and I'm not joking.
There was a good spread across the age spectrum amongst the constructors from the very young to the not so very young, Hi.
The first one to produce a working version of the ESR meter was Keith G0RLN, apart from a little teething problem with the design it worked first time so well done Keith.
The teething problem was just a 10K fixed resistor in series with the 50u Amp meter, the value needed reducing to allow the meter to zero properly.
The next constructor to finish was David G0SDO who produced another working version of the kit so well done to you David.
The other constructors will be finishing their kits on the next construction night and i would like to say well done to everyone who took part, don't worry about not finishing the kit on the same evening, this project wasn't a race It was about the enjoyment of building something useful for you to use.
I took some photos on constuction night, here is where you can see a photo of a couple of our younger members hard at work assisted by their dad's and here you can see some other club members hard at work plus deep in thought by the look of it, Hi.
The next photo is of the first to finish the project, Keith G0RLN if you listen carefully you can just about hear the cogs turning.
